# What is Card Security Verification or 3D Secure?

VISA 3D Secure and MasterCard SecureCode are enhanced security features implemented by certain card issuers. These systems verify that the individual making the purchase is the legitimate cardholder.

During the online payment process, you may be redirected to your card issuer’s website, where you will be prompted to answer additional security questions to confirm your identity. If the 3D Secure verification process is not completed successfully, the payment will not be processed.
